What does it mean to be a CHIA?

ā€œI’m immensely proud to contribute to the exciting evolution of digital healthcare and achieving CHIA certification has been a wonderful opportunity to augment my existing knowledge and skills.

Being a CHIA alumnus facilitates recognition of my skills in integrating nursing science with multiple information management and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage and communicate data, information and knowledge to facilitate improved clinical practice and processes for patient safety and quality outcomes. My current role in information and data management as a Clinical Documentation Specialist supports evidence-based decision-making by metrics to inform improvement activities. By providing detailed clinical review of patient records and liaising closely with medical colleagues, I contribute to improving the integrity of information in the digital medical record, support safe patient care, interdisciplinary clinical communication and revenue assurance.

The CHIA examination was clear and well structured, and I felt supported in my learnings and study. So, I urge anyone who is interested to apply for the opportunity to participate in the CHIA examination.ā€
